The Testaments by Margaret Atwood

The Testaments (The Handmaid's Tale, #2)The Testaments by Margaret Atwood
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Masterful. If I could write like anyone in the world, it would be Margaret Atwood. Make time to read The Handmaid’s Tale, binge watch the series, and read this book. We finally get to understand the Gilead system inside and out. We find out what Offred’s legacy is.

It’s broken into chunks from multiple perspectives including the infamous Aunt Lydia. It’s very digestible and yet I really appreciate how Atwood doesn’t dumb down her immense vocabulary for anyone. As I Googled my shortcomings, I learned about biblical references, the demon dictionary and military terms. This book will be in my top 10 for the year for sure.
